• David McColm is renowned for his breathtaking landscape and night sky photography. Based in Ucluelet after spending many years in Whistler, David’s expertise lies in capturing the beauty of the natural world, from majestic mountain ranges to ethereal northern lights. His passion for time-lapse photography adds a dynamic element to his work, making his presentations both visually stunning and educational.
• In this session, David will showcase still images, time-lapse videos, and his unique approach to capturing last light (around sunset) from a helicopter. He may also premiere a new time-lapse short film of the October 10th northern lights from Tofino. Check out his previous work, such as the May 10th northern lights film, here.
• If time permits, David will share his techniques and stories from shooting powerful storms on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
