Dave Hutchison is an award-winning photographer celebrated for his stunning wildlife and nature photography. Based in British Columbia, his work showcases the beauty and diversity of the region’s flora and fauna.
In this session, Dave will share his Top 10 Tips for Wildlife Photography, offering practical advice and techniques to help you capture breathtaking shots of animals in their natural habitats. From composition to timing and ethical considerations, Dave’s expertise will provide valuable insights for photographers of all levels.

Kas Stone is a photographer, educator, and writer based on Nova Scotia’s Atlantic coast. Her work explores themes of nature, identity, and the relationship between humans and the environment. With a background in geology and a deep connection to the landscapes she photographs, Kas brings a thoughtful and artistic perspective to her craft.
In her presentation, Kas will explore “Making Meaningful Photographs,” a thought-provoking session that delves into the storytelling aspect of photography. Night Sky Photography from Whistler to Vancouver Island

David McColm is renowned for his breathtaking landscape and night sky photography. Based in Ucluelet after spending many years in Whistler, David’s expertise lies in capturing the beauty of the natural world, from majestic mountain ranges to ethereal northern lights. His passion for time-lapse photography adds a dynamic element to his work, making his presentations both visually stunning and educational.
In this session, David will showcase still images, time-lapse videos, and his unique approach to capturing last light (around sunset) from a helicopter. He may also premiere a new time-lapse short film of the October 10th northern lights from Tofino. Check out his previous work, such as the May 10th northern lights film, here.
If time permits, David will share his techniques and stories from shooting powerful storms on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
