Club Meeting – A New Season is Upon Us!

September 22 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

A Fall Series

A creative fall series is planned with Ethan Zargo this September, October and November to
gain new creative knowledge that can be implemented in our photos and Lightroom edits. This will prepare us for another outstanding showing at the 2027 North Shore Challenge event.

Members should start looking for images they would like to submit to Ethan to be included in the October session.

Come to the September meeting with Lightroom questions that will be discussed in the October session or email to korava@telus.net with the title LIGHTOOM QUESTIONS FOR ETHAN.

September 22, 2026: Psychology in Photography

This session explores how viewers experience images, not just how photographers create them. We look at what pulls attention, what creates emotion, and what makes an image stay with you. We study a range of work, including Renaissance painters, and ask why some images land and others fall flat. Understanding how people see your images changes how you see before you ever raise the camera.

After this session, members can send images to Ethan in preparation for the October 13th meeting.

Here are the details:

  • Look for your images that you would like to submit for competition or ones that you have struggled with editing
  • Save your image as a full resolution JPEG. Do not resize or downscale, since quality is important

Name your files this way:

  • FullName-Status-Title (Full name joined and capitalized, status is one of Unedited, First Edit, or Second Edit, then image title)
  • Example: EthanZargo-Unedited-MorningFog

Members can upload here: www.dropbox.com/request/uq1c32f8slvoyay1yemt

Deadline for submissions is September 30th.

Ethan Zargo

Ethan Zargo moved to Malaysia as a teenager, earned a computer-engineering degree, and later relocated to Canada and studied photography at Langara College. He went from student to working photographer to instructor at the same institution where he learned his craft.

Early in his photography career, Ethan was active in Delta Photography Club and CAPA, earned recognition from the North Shore Photographic Society, and became a CAPA-certified judge. He stepped away from the club scene for over a decade, not because he lost interest, but to focus on actually doing the work.

That work has taken Ethan through underwater, X-ray, aerial, black-and-white fine art, product, and architectural photography. His recent projects have earned the 2025 Applied Arts Award for Architectural Photography and honourable mentions from the Black & White International Photo Awards in architecture and sport categories. Now, Ethan is looking forward to reconnecting with the photography community and presented to TCPC last season on “Black & White Fine Art Architectural Photography”.

We look forward to welcoming Ethan back to TCPC for the upcoming Fall Series. For more information about Ethan and his work, visit his website at www.ethanzargo.com.
