Meeting Location
Meetings are held every second Monday evening (excluding statutory holidays, school events, etc.) in the Drama Room at Port Moody Senior Secondary School, 300 Albert Street, Port Moody, BC. Meetings start at 7:30 PM sharp. Guests are always welcome!
Meeting Schedule
September 12, 2016 – The first meeting of the year is a presentation night. Bring your five (5) photos from the summer assignment (contact the President@tricityphotoclub.ca if you don’t have a topic for the summer assignment) or five (5) favourite photos from the summer. Guests and new members are always welcome to come and check out the club meetings. Bring a friend and introduce them to a great bunch of enthusiastic photographers of all levels.
September 26 – Landscape Photography: Autumn – online course by a Seattle-based photographer, Justin Reznick.
October 24 – Hands-on Camera night – Lighting, flashes and portraits. Bring your camera, flashes and any studio lighting you might have and learn more about portrait photography through this hands-on workshop. If you don’t have any lighting, this is a great chance to try out the club’s gear. Bring any backdrops or props to add to the experience.
November 28 – Ian McDonald, a local photographer will be presenting a talk on Travel Photography. We will also be presenting the photographs from the “Vintage” challenge and the October portraits.
December 12 – Christmas Social and Event Photography. Bring some goodies to share as well as your camera gear. Celebrate the season and learn about taking event photography just in time for all the Christmas parties.
January 9, 2017 – Novice Night. Bring out all the new camera gear that you received for Christmas and get to know all the basics. Great time to find out just what it an do!
January 23, 2017 – Presentation and Lecture. Organizing your Photos.
February 27, 2017 – Food photography and styling. Speaker: Meighan Makarachuk
March 27, 2017 – DIY Camera Gear – stations hosted by club members.
April 10, 2017 – Post-processing presentations by club members.
April 24, 2017 – Horse Power – race horse photography.
May 8, 2017 – Club elections. Challenge presentation.
June 12, 2017 – Nature photography – speaker TBD.
June 26, 2017 – Final presentations – fave five. Summer assignment and social.
